Get Goated Story: The Golden Egg
During an Easter Egg Hunt, I saw two kids, around 8 or 9, fighting over a Golden Egg (which you could trade for a basket with a prize). But in their struggle, they ignored the dozens of regular eggs (filled with candy) that surrounded them, and which other kids were joyfully picking up as they passed them by.
When the hunt was over, the two kids who were fighting barely had anything in their baskets, while the other kids had collected tens of eggs.
Watching that made me think: Sometimes we get so focused on chasing the big, shiny prize that we don’t see what is around us, and we end up missing the small blessings because we’re too busy fighting for something we think is better so let’s Get Goated and always try to be mindful, stay grateful and make the best out of the little things.
