This is one of the biggest myths in Tarot, and I do have to admit that my first Tarot deck was given to me. So technically, I can’t fully disprove the myth, but my favorite decks I’ve purchased myself, and I’ve connected with them as easily as with the decks given to me.

But based on my studies and conversations with other readers, there is absolutely nothing wrong with purchasing your first Tarot deck. If you feel the call and your intuition is pulling you toward the cards. Get your deck and start learning. You’ll figure it out along the way.

If you want to start reading, buy your deck. Trust yourself. And as you grow in your practice, don’t be surprised if people begin gifting you decks that match your energy. The magic isn’t in how you receive the cards, but in how you use them.

Get Goated Story: Bruce Vs the Millionaires.

Recently, I’ve been attending a lot of networking events and workshops to level up and expand my brand. And the more I go, the more I start questioning what success really looks like.

At those events, you see people scanning the room like hunters. Conversations don’t feel like connections but like transactions. Some people only talk to you to calculate how you can help them make more money. And the moment they realize you’re not aligned with their agenda, they discard you and move on to the next target.

After one of those weekends, where I felt obviously underestimated and judged for my business, I left emotionally drained, questioning myself, my confidence, and facing limiting beliefs. So instead of spiraling, I treated myself to pizza.

When I got there, only one person was working, an older man named Bruce. It was late, and I was his only customer. We started talking. He told me he was a veteran and that now he was happy, “just happy” making pizza. And you could tell. The way he prepared mine, slowly and carefully, it felt like he was pouring love into it.

As I watched him work, I couldn’t help but contrast my day. That morning, I had been surrounded by millionaires hungry for more, chasing bigger numbers, never satisfied. And now I was in front of a man who, from the outside, didn’t seem to have much on paper, but had something they didn’t: fulfillment, peace, and a genuine smile.

That night reminded me: success without fulfillment is empty. And sometimes the richest person in the room isn’t the one with the most money, but the one who’s at peace with their life.

So, I left Bruce not only with a delicious, warm, freshly made pizza, but also with the new purpose of becoming not just rich in money, but rich in purpose, doing what I love with the same love, passion, and smile that my pizza was made with.
